WINNERS

The following start ups and companies were selected as winners of each challenge after partaking in a specialised business development programme, and pitching their ideas to industry specialists and investors. They then got awarded with free access to a business incubation programme to the value of over R50 000. There were start ups identified who won, but their business ideas surpassed incubation and thus awarded with investor and market access opportunities.

The Compost Kitchen produce vermicompost through the collection of organic kitchen waste from households. The household gets the vermicompost back for free in a small box, with a vegetable plant growing in it so they can grow food again. The excess vermicompost is sold, and also used to brew vermi-tea, which is being trailed as a natural Pesticide.
